This is a 1955 Ford Fairlane,it has a 272 2bbl V8,and 3 speed manual trans. It has been converted to 12 volt, newer radial tires. The wipers are vacuum and don't work well(rain x) and the heater motor needs to be converted to 12 v. all the lights and gauges work. it has an aftermarket oil pressure and generator gauge as well. This car runs and drives very well, its been to Joplin Miss, and Omaha w/o any trouble. I just fininshed putting a 55 hood on it and nosing it, the hood in the picture is a 56. There is some minor rust in the trunk but the spare tire well is nice the quarters are good, the right front fender has a patch welded on it where it was rusty. The right front floor board has been patched but the left front is good. This car was originally green the black repaint has to be at least 30 yrs old but if you look down the sides its very straight. The interior is newer and very nice! This is a great driver the way it is or do what you want its a great place to start. I will consider interesting trades of the 2 wheel or 4 wheel type. The price is $6250.00 OBO, Call or email Chris 515.240.7217

!960 Ford F100 Styleside. Bed is about 6 1/2 feet long, so I believe its a short bed. 223 inline six, three-on-the-tree. Starts, runs, shifts, turns and stops good. Basically original configuration, meaning drums all the way around and bone stock motor. Handwritten records from the '60's through the '90's indicate a short-block was installed back in the mid 70's, and if the records and odometer are correct, that was about 100,000 miles ago (currently 196,xxx miles). No actual receipts for work completed by previous owners, however.

The truck was built in San Jose, Ca in February 1960 and lived in SoCal until 2008 when it came here to Virginia with the previous owner. Very little rust, and virtually none compared to a vehicle that spent 50 years here in the mid-Atlantic. Cab corners just starting to rust, inside of doors rusting, steps inside cab starting to rust, but no rust-through anywhere on truck. Some minor surface rust on frame and inside engine compartment. Bed is in very nice condition. Outside panels of bed look like they have been riveted at some point, but both sides have the same rivet marks and the inside of the bed shows no evidence of replacement, so I don't know if it came this way from the factory or not. Regardless, the bed is solid.

New windshield seal installed fall 2009. Still has a minor leak around windshield when it rains hard. When the windshield was out, I inspected the frame and it was absolutely spotless - no rust. New rear window seal and door seals with window kits installed at same time. Door kits done by alleged professionals, but the driver-side window won't roll up or down and is cracked, and the vent windows don't make a good seal. I finally took the truck back from this shop because they kept blowing off the repair.

Truck has a new radiator, fan, waterpump and hoses. New tie-rod and ends. New draglink. Cheapo aftermarket wheels. Tires have good tread but are beginning to dry-rot on the sidewalls. I have five original rims (no hubcaps) that go with the truck, but one rim has some minor damage, most likely repairable, though finding another stocker would probably be cheaper.

Factory 12v system with a generator. Charging system works good. Intermittent left brake light issue (not a bulb). Gauge lights do not work, but gauges do. Oil and Gen light work, as does the cab lamp. Windshield wipers are vacuum-operated and mostly decorative compared to modern wipers.

Truck does not have AC, heat, defrost or radio from factory. Not hacked out, never had it, period. Extremely basic.

Leaks oil from main seal, leaving a trail of half-dollar sized drops behind you. Seems like a lot, but haven't had to add oil. Its a leaker, though. Doesn't smoke except on the occasional start-up after being idle for a couple of weeks, and then only briefly.

Paint is amateur but looks good from "20 feet." Interior is all metal. Seat has been reupholstered. Headliner was rotten and removed.

This is a nice truck. Currently has antique tags and is driven to the grocery store and such on a weekly basis, so it hasn't been pulled out of a barn recently or anything. The way it's geared it's really happy at 45 mph, and I've had it up to 60, but it sounds like the inside of a B17 over Berlin at that speed, so I try to avoid that. This truck would probably drive back to California, but it would need to be warm, dry and on back-roads. And I'd do it if I had the time and money,

I'm selling for several reasons. I need the money, the truck needs a garage, its impractical currently as a daily-driver (I don't care about no heat, but no defrost is a bitch), and I need the money.

NADA Classic Cars Low Retail is $7600.
http://www.nadaguides.com/default.as...&z=22630&da=-1

Clean Virginia title in my name. Price is firm, but will consider trades for a daily driver. Mostly interested in a straight sale, though.

A little introduction:

I am 35 yrs old, have a beautiful wife. Our first kid is due in March 2010, and I love cars.

The initial reason for joining is the Friday ART thread. I have seen nothing short of greatness post their art on the HAMB and I'd like to add a few pieces of my own from time to time. I certainly don't compare to the awesome talent here, but they inspire me beyond words.

Beyond that, I saw a traditional "hot rod" on the streets of Pinellas Park, Florida the other day..... caught him at a stop light. When the light turned green, his Pontiac powered hot rod lit up the skinny rear Firestone replicas and instantly, I was in awe. I grew up at the dragstrip... my Dad raced NHRA division 2 Super Gas. I know several people in the Outlaw 10.5 and Top Sportsman ranks. I know a bad ass car when I see one and even those 1,100 HP monsters don't get my pulse racing like a well done hot rod..

I am normally the guy who's E.T. means more than style. I love my car, A 1989 Fox-Body coupe Mustang. I love it, but want to be a part of this crowd. Whether it's my art (shitty by the way) or if it's by building my first "true" hot rod, I am here.

This Car was bought a few years back out of California and we have been trying to locate some history on it. The car was built in the same manner that the Larry Shinoda Chopstick special as far as the frame set up. the fabrication that was done was done well. and plenty of lighten holes were drilled out in the cross members. the engine was set back pretty far the motor mounts are at the firewall edge. A beautifully chop on the car and well done, the car is great shape for a dragster and hopefully we will be able to restore it to it race condition when we find it. Just though that the car was pretty cool the pictures are not the best but it is good to see how these cars are found and how they were constructed.

1955 Ford Fairlane two-door club sedan. Has green and white paint and green interior. It has a 292 from a 1956 t bird and a 3 speed w/overdrive. I have the original 272 as well. It has a brand new Barry Grant demon on it and it runs flawlessly as a daily driver during the summer. The car has solid trunk and floor pans. There is a little rust bubbles in the lower fenders, but the rest of the car is clean and strait. I also have a nice door and trunk lid to make even less body work. There is a new gas tank in it.
The brake system is brand new no corners cut THIS IS THE BRAKES.It has new carpet but the rest of the interior need to be done. I bought the car from the original owner and have all the paper work from when it was newand the owners manuel. This car has only 46,000 original miles. This car is good shape considering its age. I will post pics shortly.
Thanks Dave
