KingShift

I started working on vehicles at age 8. At age 11 I built my first go-cart, age 15 bought 30 Model A Cp - age 16 traded Model A for 33 Ford 3 W Cp. Built 55 Olds block into 374 ci, Isky RR-s Roller, Cragar Staggered 4 Manifold and Vertex Mag wit 37 Lasalle Trans. Age 18 designed and manufactured the "KingShift" with a reversed K pattern, 1st was Left and Forward, 2nd was back and to the Right. The shift pattern took advantage of the force produced by the acceleration of the car. The shift levers were hand machined on a Bridgeport Milling machine, heat treated and cadmium plated. The "KingShift" was listed in Hot Rod in June 1962. Now that I am retired I am reproducing the "KingShift" shifter units and making the 50 Olds Bell Housing out of #356 Aluminum and other parts for the Cadillac standard shift transmissions. I am interested in building Rat Rods to keep out of trouble and off the streets.
