Wish I could find that magazine. This is an ad for the C.T. wheels that I may have thought were E.T.s. The other wheels were very similar with the same large center.

You had it right, just going through some old magazines and found the ad I was thinking of and it wasn't it.

  4. Landseaandair, Thanks for finding that ad. I try not to post anything unless I'm 98.9 percent sure I'm correct. I had a chance a few years back to buy a set of four 15 inch but I passed because I figured I'd never find the right center caps, now I wish I would have bought them anyway.

I wish that I could help you. The wheels in the picture were out of long term storage and were hardly ever run. It looks like a non glossy dark gray paint.

  8. I like to use this "Cast Blast" . I get it from National Parts Depot.

DO YOU PRIME THEM BEFORE YOU PAINT?

  11. I don't prime them, just clean them up real good.

  13. Can't believe I haven't posted here before this. Al ran Howard's wheels on his Savoy. Haven't seen any of them in real life.

The rears are 16x10 5 spoke magnesium would there be a manufacturing stamp on them?

Should all be Americans. Magnesium American 5 spokes were usually unmarked.

  24. How would I get the checked and crazed clear coat off the fronts without ruining the oxidation????

Fill a big pan full of cheap lacquer thinner and soak them. May need to do one side at a time. Lacquer thinner shouldn't do anything to oxidation, but after a while it will dissolve/lift any paint.

Even if you found something that did clean them well and it took some of oxidation, it will be back SOONER than later. Cool wheels.

Those look like the Ford factory accessory wheels used on trucks and vans (5 on 5.5 bolt pattern) in the late 70's

  30. Ok thanks I have them on a 46 ford coupe that was imported from the US to Australia with them already fitted, everyone here that sees them loves them but didn't know what brand or era they were from. We have all seen similar wheels but not exactly the same. Here they are fitted on the back of the car as well. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1435295741.091314.jpg
