Technical 1950 chevy truck front fender question

    Building 1950 Chevy truck and was wondering if I can mount my inner fenders first, and then put outer fenders over top of them without messing up paint. Did not know if anyone has attempted this.

    I'm sure you could. I've never tried this myself but that doesn't mean much. Let us know how it works out.

    That's the best method for aligning everything, such as putting one together from half a dozen other trucks. Don't forget to use something (felt, gasket material) between the parts at the seams. Keeps the squeaks & leaks to a minimum.

    Leave all the bolts loose until it is together and aligned.

    Thanks for the input. I did not know if I could get the outer on after the inners were bolted up without tearing up the paint. I am waiting for fenders to get back from paint shop, and wanted to start putting back together.
