  2. Let's see, that's failure to yield, reckless driving, speeding and destruction of police property. See you in court, have a nice day

Yeah, my hometown is about 60 miles north of Garberville. Great country up there, but a whole other world.

That grille has some potential for a custom car. looks like a cross between a 54 Chev and an FJ Holden.

Really, it always seem so much longer. If that is the case then 60 must be McKinnleyville or Arcata

Today the last of them from Ormond Beach in Florida.

Driver Henry Levey and his guys weighing their Hotchkiss racer. Wonder if the rear fuel tank is full or empty?

    11.jpg

The fun was not just limited to cars. This motorcycle rider was getting after it in 1908.

    12.jpg

Here’s another shot of the Stanley Steamer racer that held steam records into the next century!

    13.jpg

Note the fully dressed monkey on the hood, driver unknown

    14.jpg

This 1905 photo features a well dressed guy posing next to a Simplex radiator that was obviously ripped from a car during a wreck.

    15.jpg

Here’s driver Sam Stevens and his passenger getting ready to take the Fiat racer out for a spirited run on the sand.

    16.jpg

William Wallace is the driver and as usual, the passenger is unnamed in this photo. driving A Fiat.

    17.jpg

    J. Walter Christie driving the car that bears his name, a Christie at speed on the beach.

    18.jpg

You can’t see him but Barney Oldfield is at the wheel of the Peerless Green Dragon which is the car in this photo. The image was taken at the 1905 speed trials.

    Rootie,
the #61 Epperly, any info? Never saw it before. Was this the car bettenhausen drove in 1958?

  28. It's already been done. It looks like the Cook and Bedwell fueler. This dragster was made into a kit ( or one very much like it ). check Monogram or Aurora .
