This is a photo of a 1930-31 under Windshield cross piece/ Dash Rail, did the 28-29 have one? The roadster cowl had one, may have been of heavier gauge. If it never existed, I'll call off the search. If you have photos showing the 28-29 piece please post them. Thanks! Bob

Yes this is our 29 Coupe. There are major differences in this area between the 28-29 v 30-31

Thanks 29Sleeper! The 28-29 Fordor cowl is a totally different animal, I'll have to rethink the solution.

The fordor cowl also has two versions depending on if it was built by Murray or Briggs.

True, The cowl band was on one not the other, and there was a wood strip under the windshield and steel on the other. I believe the Briggs is the better of the two.

  6. Yes.
Here's my '28 sedan dash rail. It attaches to the body with six fine thread machine screws.

Underneath it, the tank/ dash/ firewall combo attaches to the body with ten nuts/ bolts.

Let me know if you need more pix.:)

Thanks Gary! With the Fordor cowl I'm using I'll have to add material to match the curve of the tank to fit the 1931 under windshield piece. It is something I'll finish after the final fitting and after things are welded in place. Should be a good goal for the 4th of July. Bob
