Just finished, '57 BelAir, 2 door hardtop, Three on the tree! with a 1962 327. Everything new. wiring, trim and chrome, windows, paint, interior, front disc brakes.

 

Looks like a gem from the past...

Well, it all started in High School..... for me about 1967.... All the "tough" cars would gather down on Austin Ave..... Some had a girlfriend with them and you just cruise the drag.


This one ended up being my wife... she loves my current '57.....

'56 Bel Air, 4 door hardtop, 327 cu.in. 3 speed floor shift.... solid white interior.....

Even before I had a license to drive I had a '54 BelAir...

That's my buddy's '57 behind it. You can't see very good but it had '58 Buick port holes in the hood. Spider hubcaps. 3 speed in the floor. I tore up so many second gears that I finally cut out a panel in the floor to maake changing them easier. Hated droppingg the rearend because of the enclosed drive shaft.



Of course the price is a little more than the '54 I got for $150 and the '56 I got for $300.....
But the feeling and fun is just the same...

A fifty five two-ten two door sedan, there was a time some people might have said
"at least its not a BelAir 2 door hardtop".

 

The stronger sedan body may very well have kept that '55's roof from flattening altogether. Agreed, no way to treat what was a clean car. Sadly, that one may not have survived after this rollover.
