Thinking about having one shipped. Anyone know the weight of a bare block?

I am guessing it is somewhere in that 300 +/- 50 lbs range. More than UPS or Fed-Ex will handle, so you are looking at an LTL carrier.

  7. My 354 bare block weighed around 275-300 lbs.
I strapped it to a hand dolly and put it in my Subaru Outback to deliver to the machine shop.
BTW, Each head- with valves & rocker assemblies- weighed 74 lbs.
    Hope this helps.

Not sure where some of the wild guesses come from...a bare block weighs 190-200. The variation comes from which foundry it came from. Yes, I have weighed them because I have shipped them.
