@down-the-road The photo is from the 1959 Detroit Nationals pits area. Hello, The mystery photo is solved. It is from the U.S. Nationals in Detroit in 1959. I remember an old film showing the Dragmaster Team going to the Nationals. This is where I was able to get the actual SOUND of the Dragmaster group making a screaming run in the front mount 671 SBC drag race car. (see Dragmaster on an LP album on the HAMB search) The film was taken in the Summer of 1959 and the real SOUND came from a recording taken off of an LP Album that covered that national event in September of 1959. Gran Ma 1959 U.S. Nationals Detroit One of the Texas racers on a journey, a young Phil Parker, piloted a 1941 A/Gas Willys named Gran-Ma. He raced the Willys through the early-’60s. Jnaki The film was taken by pro photographers and showcases the antics of the So Cal Dragmaster Team. Part of the film shows the Gran-Ma Willys Coupe being off loaded from the large double deck transporter truck/trailer. The Gran-Ma Team had a #202 1957 Chevy running in C/Gas. Check out the transporter with the 57 Chevy in the lower rack. So, the B&W photo of the “Pits” was in the arena of the 1959 Detroit U.S. Nationals… YRMV
