Well for starters it's a ford rear end. The tag will tell what gears . What kind of car did you buy? Clean the tag so we can read it better.
looks like a 9" ford. And it sure is hard to read the tag... looks like it's leaking around the pinion nut. They need either a new nut, or sealer on the splines, when assembling.
Bought a 1930 model A. But i dont know much about it because the previous owner didn’t know much about it.

The part of the tag in yellow is the part that tells what it's out of. I can't quite make out the letters. But yeah, it's a 9", it, says so. 3.50 9 and it looks just like one, too. if it says WDM-AK, then: WDM-AK Ford F100 Pickup 73-78 3.50 9 in NL 31
Thanks everyone. I have the information now to order parts for it. Couldn’t have done it without you. Take care guys and be safe out there!
Beware that it's really easy to swap parts on these things, so double check by appearance/dimensions that you are indeed ordering the correct parts to replace what's on it.
I don’t want to highjack your thread but I am interested in what you might have going on there because that’s where I’m heading. I want to put an 8” or 9” in my Model A RPU and keep the buggy spring (Posie’s lowering spring) and crossmember. 9” stuff is a lot easier to find than 8” so I’m starting to think I’m going to have to go with the 9” but I’m concerned about clearance issues pumpkin & crossmember. If you could post some pictures of what you’ve got going on there I would appreciate it. Thanks
That bracket bolted to the top of the pinion support is an aftermarket mounting tab for a panhard rod connection to locate the housing in the car.. Makes for an awful short bar and results in a larger amount of side-to-side travel as the suspension goes up and down. It would be better to have the mount on the housing out near the opposite sidehousing end, so that the bar is twice as long and travels in less of an arc.
I'd seen them before so went looking https://www.429-460.com/t2882-ford-9-rear-info-great-for-swaps and https://maliburacing.com/ford-nine-inch-g-body/ which includes this picture. anyway, hope this helps OP if the other info doesn't answer all questions.
9"-v-8". 8" is flat on top and bottom by comparison. Check the axle flanges to determine bearing size. All retaining nuts are easily accessible on an 8" but one isn't on a 9". Appears to be a 9"
