Hey all you folks in the Joplin area. Can you ferret out any stations that offer Ethanol free gas in the Joplin area? Since it MIGHT be hot when we come for the drags, and the Caddy doesn't like ethanol enhanced (yeah, right) gas, I'd like to find some 100% gas while I'm there.
I've been outta town for a few. I'll check around this week when I get back to the home stead. I'm sure we van find ya something
Stay away from the caseys stations all they sell is ethanol blended fuel. Most stations that have 91 octane is still good fuel the pumps will say right next to the octane rating if it is blended. There is one station that is close to the hotel that still sells 93 octane. Run 91 or better and you won't have any problem I run it in all my cars even the blown injected T model. The 64 afx dart I will be running at the drags does not have hardened valve seats yet plus 10 to 1 compression and will not ping or run crappy on a 100 degree day. Hope this helps
Carl is correct, Missouri law states that all gasoline contain 10% ethanol unless it's cheaper for it to be 100% gas. I know of no one in the Joplin area that sells 100% gas and it's not required in Missouri to mark pumps with what they contain.
Thanks for that info guys, I'll gas up in Miami, since Oklahoma still requires gas stations to have the info on their pumps. I hate that PC garbage, and ethanol!!
cenex started selling 93 octane no ethanol in missouri and there is one in joplin about 30 cent a gallon higher than the water other places sell around 2.70 /gl
WOW, here on Long Island, e-85 is .50 a gal cheeper than regular. and the price hasnt moved in over a year, 110 octane @ 2.29 a gal. I just odered a conversion kit for one of my eddy 1406 carbs, gonna give it a shot on the 454 combo, If i like it, into the '27 it goes!
You might check MACS gas station on 32nd street in Joplin, he keeps 93 octane and is only about a mile from the hotel, and is a car guy.
I'm not sure if the 93 Macs has contains ethanol. I asked one day, but the guy behind the counter didn't know...
