Hy Folks, I'm from Germany and want to introduce myselfe. Sorry but my english is bad..... Till summer I'm working on a GAZ M20 "Pobeda"- a Russian car, also not well known in Germany. You could also visit my little page about the project: http://stabil-berlin.de/pobeda/ don't miss to few to second page.... (sorry it's in german- but wirh some pics ) The car was repaired and repaired over the years, so it's full of scars inside, but mainly in verry good condition. I bought t it as shown at first picture. Top Chop is allready done, in the moment I'm working on new back fenders- new fotos will come soon.... Well, still much of work to do..................
Welcome from Canada Gobi...great looking project. Always amazes me how, no matter where in the world a garage pic is from, any Hot Rodder could go there and just start to work feeling right at home. If nobody spoke to you, ya wouldn't even know the country had changed!!! Those pictures could be from any of our backyard shops... Thats very cool...brings us all closer together I think.
anyone notice the photo of the russian St Christopher medal? thats pretty cool. the cars cool too, welcome and thanks for sharing, Gobi. What kind of engine is it getting?
The St Christopher isnt Russian, my wife bought it in Barcelona for my car, but meanwhile it's stolen in the backyard! May the thief burn in hell, or hit the next tree! I'm not sure withe the engine, the original is verry weak. As far as I know it's a rebuild Dodge D5 engine, but after a command of Stalin just build as a 4Zylinder- only KGB uses 6! That would be cool- but my contact to the KGB is'nt good...
Import a straight 8 and throw it in...really screw up some heads! They might think your Stalin or something!!! LoL
UUUPs, sorry - I forgot " a little bit" to post here..... Projekt is "finished", still little stuff to do: See it running: http://stabil-berlin.de/pobeda/race61_2010.mp4
Hey Gobi, looks good. I have two of them old Pobeda,s waiting in the shed. You need to make a new thread on the main message board. Then everyone can see the legs on the girl waving the flag. .
