The roadster sports a 50 Ford wheel,

The yard art sports a old 4-spoke 17incher,

And then there is this one....please help me ID this lil wheel. Perfectly flat with no dish (well except for the bit of a wobble from a bout or two with the crash wall) IIRC the bolt pattern is smaller than a standard adapter (hmmm I think I have the original adapter now that I think of it, didnt fit anything I owned) has a small continuous bead in the rubber grip on the backside.

    TIA

Depending on the car, my choices are the classic '59 Olds wheel for a big cruiser or any Superior wheel for a rod. Superior Industries made the BEST looking custom wheel: the inside "spider" spokes were slightly scalloped/curved. Very stylized. They made Grant wheels look like crap, like homemade. Also, Superior wheels came in many grip materials from metal flake to foam to walnut. Very hard to find now days, but they're out there.

  3. [IMG]Covico if I'm not mistaken. What's the diameter?

15 1/2" to the very outside of the grip. I had hoped Covico, but the steel for the spokes and holes have no roundness to them, very squared off, so that threw me.
Here is the adapter that was on the wheel when I bought it. When I used the wheel in my racecar, I redrilled and tapped my quick disconnect, rather than drill new holes in the wheel IIRC.

PS, also notice this wheel has no hole for a horn button....hmmmm

Here's the steering wheel in my T-bucket. I followed a suggestion from another thread in the H.A.M.B. and painted it using Krylon Fusion Hammered Finish paint with good results.

Anderegg Tribute: From what I have found, the real early Covico's are not drilled for a horn type adapter. The flat ones measure a little bigger than a dished one ; I think its due to the blanks lost a little when they pressed the dish in them. I have two flat ones that both have a ridge in the vynil on the back side. The ridge also extends out to the edge on all three spokes.

1st Covico in an ad I've found is Dec'60 R&C Trophy Eng. kart wheel. 1st Moon ad March '61 black or white only. 1st horn kit is listed in June'64 Hot Rod, also this is 1st time I found copper listed as avalible. I have a copper one undrilled for horn; so i'd guess sometime in 1964 they probably started drilling all of them for the horn kit. You could say I'm kinda a freak for these myself. I'd say about one out of ten found will be a flat one vs ten dished ones.

It is a '38 Studebaker Banjo that I made a new hoop for to cut it down to about 16-1/2" from 18" The rim wrap is just temporary. It still needs to be plated and the rim recast. …but I liked its character.

Wife bought this at a swap meet, have no idea what it's off.. so I cleaned it up a bit and got it covered in brown leather...........the horn push is off the very first car I owned (1956 Morris Minor)

'40 Chevy spinner wheel in my '37 truck (mounted on a '46 column). Snagged it without trim and all the plastic was gone but the spinner worked. Wrapped it with vacuum tubing and a leather wheelskin. Center is alum sheet and bar stock with a lens ring from a Buick cowl lamp and a 1887 Morgan silver dollar.

I run a '46 Ford wheel in my '32 Highboy, similar to the first photo above, a '47 Ford piece. I am too stupid to post a shot of it.
