Just a thought but I think they should do away with the tag option. too many threads where people talk smack on others while being hiden. I think its just a pointless option that is used in most cases to talk crap. the only way id say keep it is if it showed who posted the tags that way it kept people from the smart remarks.

Most of the tags I've read (like on Dreddybear's and Jeffry James' build threads) are intended to jokes among friends. I've even added joke tags to my own threads. Ragging on each other is just something guys do.

I think that they serve two good functions, One is the obvious, the search words it can add to a thread, the other is more subtle, the ability to fullfill the urge to comment on a goofy thread and not send it back to the top. Reading the tags can remove the urge to post on a thread that should be buried quickly and if you can't control yourself the tag entry doesn't send it to the top.

Yeah, I like them for the reasons ELD gave....
Sometimes a person needs to know they're an idiot. If their friends don't tell them and we can't straight up post it, how you gonna help a brother out?

I noticed the tags were removed from John Stimac's barn find recreation deuce 3-window post and I don't know John but he seems to have a lot of working knowledge to offer and ,,they were getting pretty rough on the guy.
Having fun and joking with your friends is ok,,,and freedom of speach is great but be a man about it and put it in a post instead of hiding behind a tag line. HRP

I thought some tags were funny, some were just mean, but then there are a lot of guys on the hamb who think they are funny but in fact are just d-bags. I think it goes with the star rating system too. Sometimes someone will rate the thread with 1 star but you go in and read the post and there are no negative comments, it's an anonymous way to say something sucks but it doesn't really help anything.

I liked the Tag option! I like to see what people have to say about a certain thread.
More often than not, most will post a response in the thread anyway. Bring it back!

The tags were not meant to be another method of commenting. They were there to help the search engine. The abuse of the tags, however, only slowed the search engine down.

I wont miss them...
Talking shit anonymously always seems a bit cowardly to me. If you have something to say, you should be able to put your name next to it...

Yeah, it's clear to me that the tags were getting misused and out of hand. But man, the tags were some of the funniest things I have ever read on the HAMB.
I will miss them, but understand why they went the way of the dodo bird.Afterall, this is a hot rod site, not a comedy club.

There are always ways to joke around. The tags were funny sometimes and total shit-talking other times. I dont need them to enjoy the Hamb.

Yeah Im glad to see them gone! Thanks Ryan. Too much trash talking from guys hiding behind a computer screen. The only way they would work out is if it said who posted the tag only then people wouldn't be talking smack on others.
