Just pulled a wheel off my new Edsel and found a wheel adapter I've never seen. What is it ? Who made them?

    !st question= Dangerous
    2nd question=Some idiot.
Seriously though the stress(leverage) that looks like it puts on the studs would scare me.

These look more like spacers than adapters. The offset, I presume, is to fill a uni-lug or other oddsize hole since it appears wheel bolts are used into the spacers above the original lug studs??
Is it a backspacing problem they are made to overcome? I'd go with full spacer rings and longer studs.

It looks like someone with a lathe,a set of wheels and too much time on their hands was trying to reinvent the wheel.LOL
(Sorry about that),those are just too weird.
