I want to start building the frame for my 29 sedan and I'm looking for a set of plans for making my own z frame. Anyone willing to share?
I used the Wescotts blueprint from their website for the basic stuff. I expect that there has to be several dozen threads on here about "Z" ing model a frames on here.....I use the hillbilly CAD system for making plans ( Cardboard Aided Design)...make lots of mockups and see what looks right.
Thats funny right there.....I second the hillbilly CAD system.... In fact I found that old discarded liquor boxes work the best......and if they dont......get a few more....and by then.....everything lines up perfectly, and fits like a glove.
would you be willing to share a link... i tried .net ....com. ... .org but got nothing. thanks in advance.
I think this is one of the smartest homebuilt A frames from 2x4 tubing I've seen. And it looks like it would work wether you plan to channel it or not. redbeard's tech.
ah.... knowing the full name helped a lot. Just using wescott revieled nothing. ... FYI I do use google. Have a happy.
Hi, websites have disappeared, but thankfully, Internet has a memory: http://web.archive.org/web/20071105171949/http://www.wescottsauto.com/site2003C/frame_specs.html http://web.archive.org/web/20080624223352/http://home.cogeco.ca/~deuceguy/Model_A_Scans_Main.htm
Work the registration problem first. I don't know the answer but maybe boxing a '29 with its original serial number would let you register the car as a '29 but a new frame would create problems. Charlie Stephens
