How about posting some pics of Cars( peoples rides on here) & the times & speed they're turning in the 1/4 mile?( 1/8 mile is cool too). With some details about engine mods, rear ratios, trannys, etc.
I noticed that along with never posting how much anyone pays for "barn finds" etc. that ET's are never posted, LOL.I'm just wondering what nice old rods are turning compared to numbers of todays cars. Thanks JimV

I'll bite.
454 BBC, Ford 8", 3:08 gears, turbo 400. No traction, slippery track. 17 seconds and 1000 miles less tread on my tires due to the 1/4 mile burnout http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPEnb6ApGhU

My coupe is mostly a street car but has gotten down the track in 12.10 @ 115.10. A weak suck compared to what some of the street driven HAMB cars are turning these days.

Street 454 with 671 in bucket with glide & 28 spline axles. Had to idle off the line but got down to 10.215@132 before engine expired. Cast crank lasted 5000 miles tho.
Building new 540 B&M 420 Megablower with glide and have fully floating 31 spline rear in it now. Should be bulletproof & allow me to drive to track, run a 9 and drive home without breaking any stuff. Car weights 2850 lbs with me in it so its no lightweight. Yeah, Im a wannabe fuel altered pilot...... Last edited by GasserTodd; 05-26-2012 at 09:02 PM. |
