I am freaking out sitting in bed knowing my car has a crunched fender... This is one of the worst feelings. I am chomping at the bit to tear the sheet metal off the front and start to replace parts.

Yep, that hurts, but it looks pretty fixable in the picture. Was anything underneath bent like the frame ?

Hey,

With the exception of the headlamp door everything bent that's pictured, can be straightened R&R of bent parts is easy, but you'll learn nothin' about repair skills that way!

Looking at the pic - wish I there was a better shot - but looking at the pic I would certainly want to check the rad and radiator support. These cars have the whole front end tied together at the rad, and I would imagine that a really good hit to the front corner could bend stuff out of whack and make front sheet metal alignment damn near impossible.

Aside from that, the fender itself looks fixable to me, just needs patience. My driver's fender looked like a golfball when I stripped the filler off, and it's almost perfect now - yes, I have filler on it, but nothing like what was there before. ugh.

I do wish they re-poped our fenders, but you gotta do what you can.

No it's all sheet metal. The previous owner put a clip in it an they did a poor job of mounting the front sheet metal. I feel like that's why it was crunched so easily. The front of the fender wasnt supported

The stock core support is long gone. Previous owner hacked it out.

Went through the same thing a few years back. Was going to sell my OT Camaro after 36 years, and while getting it ready I crunched it, and it had never been wrecked previously. After fixing it and getting it looking like new I ended up not selling it. Just looked too nice once it was done, and I guess I'll wait a year until I've had it 40 years!

So here are some more pics of the damage. Is it even worth reworking these parts?
