You can use kitty litter if you want, but you may have better results with "Kitty Hair". Plus it may smell better.:p:D

Gave the stainless a quick buzz with some polish and a polishing ball before throwing back on and giving everything a rinse. So far as to today's goals I just have the stainless removed from the passenger doors. Hopefully get them mostly prepped for paint today IMG_2024-03-17-12-33-10-697.jpg

May have found a cheap solution to my grill insert. Gonna get rechromed grill upper and lower bars and ends. But wanted to run a tube grill and so far have had no luck finding one. But I can get a ten foot stick of aluminum 1/2" EMT conduit. Thinking cut into bars the length I need before polishing and clear coating. Then rivet to black painted half inch angle iron and mount in place IMG_2024-03-17-15-28-15-804.jpg

I’m not sure if clearing them would help any but I like the idea just polish them up!
Are they coated with any weird galvanized stuff?

Not really sure. I'll have to see what they do when I go to polish it. Mainly reason I'd clear it is to keep from having to polish again lol. It'll bound be better than what I currently have and definitely be a lot cheaper than alternatives. With lights I'd have about $50 in it lol. Can always swap it out later on if a better alternative pops up

Find some aluminum or stainless. Emt is galvanized.. Watch breathing fumes.
Think alum. tent poles. Cheap tents at garage sells.

Didn't think of Lowe's. This stuff I found at Ace on my way to the dollar store to hunt gummy worms for my wife lol

Just looked online at metal by the foot. Bout $7 per piece. Not bad actually and I wouldn't have to worry about cutting stainless myself

I go pretty often, they’ll cut stuff for you, loads of specialty hardware and supplies. I like wandering around the shop while I’m waiting for my order just seeing what’s new.

in my experience the calculator/ price estimator on the website is accurate as well.

Out of curiosity...... would likely have chrome or stainless plugs/caps to go into the ends of the tubes?

Had thought about bellflowers..... don't really think they'd look right with the bubble butt this car has. After I get my 54 210 I will be swapping to functional lakes pipes on this car instead of the current cherry bombs

    They might.

I could see some sort of press in cap being found in a drawer of stuff like that. If not there try a well stocked ace in one of the drawers that says random furniture parts.

might look at press in freeze plugs if it can be flat or might even press the top of a carriage bolt into service for a cap if you had to?

Chrome baby. :D May get lucky and get cool flake seats. These are always cheap at auctions. 413975005_860820635837271_159320571413724156_n.jpg

Too cold to mess with anymore today. But got the passenger doors 3/4 of the way prepped for primer. Supposed to be a lot warmer tomorrow so I'll get the last bit of sanding knocked out (along with a couple filler spots) and get them in primer tomorrow IMG_2024-03-18-18-37-26-777.jpg
