IMG_2370.PNG IMG_2371.PNG Last weekend my across the street neighbor came over to ask me about a 35 Ford that he had come across while remodeling someones bathroom. He was telling me that this 35 Ford coupe was in the customers barn, yea I know that's cliche now days, but that is actually where the car was. He had brought it up with him from Arizona in 1979 and thats where it has stayed since then. He had intentions of fixing it up but the mother in law got sick moved in with his family and he never got around to doing anything with it.
While Mike, my neighbor, was there working the customer asked if he was interested in buying it on the cheap. He showed me some pictures of it and I told Mike if he bought it I would buy it from him. He could make a good profit just bringing the car home.
He got it home last night, I went over and looked and it and finalized the deal today. While he was unloading it 3 people had stopped and made him offers on it and one guy even came back with the wife to make an offer. Mike, true to his word, told them that we had already put a deal together and that he would have to wait until I looked at it to see if I wanted it.

Mean while I took some pictures of it today and this is what it looks like. Still needs cleaning up but you get the idea.
Small block chevy, three speed, juice brakes, old SW gauges, steering column switched out, found absolutely no rot on the body or the frame. Still has the old Keystones on it from when it was parked. Body is pretty much perfect, couldn't find any dents or rot. Wheel wells are prefect. The roof has been filled and they did a really good job of filling it. Grill is straight.
The original firewall has been removed, boo, and an aluminum one was installed.
The first two pictures are in as found condition in the barn.

Very cool! They're even the early Kustomag Keystones instead of the classics, that's neat.

Nice score. I like the Keystones. It would be cool to see more pics of the engine install. I wonder why they spaced it back that far.

What a great project. Good for you..
The rear end original? The front suspension looks like it could be a clip, Or is it original?
    Have fun!!

Good score! That's a strait lookn' car. Neat old Covico "fatty" steering wheel and you sure don't see many Fenton shifters. What 's the small block , and rear?

Make it safe and drive it! Maybe add a "Keep on truckin'" decal for added 70's goodness.

  19. Neat car. I bet that paint would come back with a few hours on the buffer.

Great find! Sat since '79 ( almost 40 years). Have to wonder how many more years it would have sat if your friend wasn't there doing the remodel. He's a true friend to come through for you. Deserves the first ride once she's up and running.

The one in the trunk is workable with some bent bars. The one on it is in really good shape.

Wow, congratulations on a great score. A good solid platform makes it so much easier to build. Plans are?
