Just returned from the Aussie Kustom Nationals held at Phillip Island in southern Victoria. Phillip Island is the home of the Grand Prix track that hosts many major world car and bike events. Left on Wednesday from Brisbane and took 2 days to get to Melbourne and the onto the event on Friday. Returned back to Melbourne on Sunday and back home in 2 days. Over 4000kms(2400miles) for a test run on the Hudson after finally getting registration after a long battle with the authorities. Only a couple of small issues but a list of things to do to get it more comfortable. A great feature of the run is to cruise the race track and many participants took advantage of that. A bit disappointed with the run. Probably 1000 cars with a lots of Aussie and USA classics, hot rods and some customs.Weather on Saturday was cloudy but no rain and fine and hot on Sunday. Victorians don't like bringing their cars out if there is even a hint of rain within a 200km radius so there should have been a lot more entrants I think.

That is the Richard Zocchi car that was imported by someone here apparently. http://www.zocchicustomcars.com/1960-dodge-pioneer/
I don't know if they are HAMB people but I would like to thank Tim and Bob for their help at a little town outside Melbourne when we lost a calliper bolt. We struggled into town and the Custom Gods were looking after us. Tim drove past in his plumbers van and stopped to get a picture. We explained our predicament and immediately he said follow me to my mates shop. We had the car jacked up, wheel off and problem found. Bolt and a special spacer missing and lying back on the highway somewhere!! Tim went off to find a bolt while we found something in the shop to make up the spacer. Tim comes back in his 1953 Oldsmobile 2 door 88 that has a 600hp big block/Turbo 350 and bagged and he has found the bolt we need. They had us back on the road in about 1 1/2 hours. Thanks guys.
That's gotta be a cool privelege, to cruise that tricky Philip Island track. What a classic it is. And de-finning a T-Bird? Wow.
But wait there are more. Maybe a couple of Non HAMB cars there but they just got caught up in the enthusiasm of figuring out how to do the pictures properly. The first picture here is the Richard Zocchi Dodge that now lives here.
Great to see your Hudson finally back on the road, bet you are too! Awesome effort driving it their and back. One of the coolest customs in the WORLD Paul. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
