I see that Your dad didn't bore all the way through the bottom of the case and left a square counter bore for the bottom of the sleeve to land on. Not a lot of people do it this way but it is the best way. Most just bore all the way through and press the sleeve through into the bottom of the crankcase. This will somertimes lead to the sleeve moving down when the block gets hot and all of the hard work is lost.
The car looks great, congrats on getting it to move under it's own power.

I am kicking myself right now for not taking more pictures of all that stuff. So far I think this Zepher transmission is great. I spent hours just looking at that trans and the crossmember trying to come up with a way to make it work. What I did was cut off that big mount that hangs right in the way of all your clutch and brake linkage. Then notched the crossmember to get it to fit without cutting out any of mounts for the wishbone or pedals. I built a mount off the back side of the crossmember where the stock brake rod pivot mounted. Disassembled the overdrive made my own shaft for the solenoid control, using a old intake valve, guide, and seal from a old cylinder head that was laying around. Then mounted the solenoid under the tail shaft and connected it with a "jack shaft". I have some pics of it on my cell phone, I will try to email it to myself and get it posted for you.

I am with you on that one. I love the 33/34's !

  17. awesome....alway's amazed at how 'refreshing' it is to see the little '21 studs of fury' in cars, without all the aftermarket 'stuff'.

Job well done, and whilst I'm a 3 window lover, that unchopped 5 is beautiful.

    Cheers,

    Drewfus:)

That was a good idea with the solenoid. Ihave also been thinking about soe kind of remote intallation with at linkage and wire. Sounds like it's doable then. Again, thanks for sharing.
