Please post threads of cars being chopped here. This is not a thread for " Here is a picture of my chopped car." This is not a thread for " Here is a picture of a car I chopped." This is not a thread for " Should I chop this car?" This is not a thread for " How should I chop my car." This is a thread for How cars are chopped. How you chopped your car or how someone else here on the HAMB chopped their car. With pictures so people can follow along and see were the cuts were made and how the rear window was handled. How things were made to fit together. The reason for this thread is because so many chops are out there that do not show up when a search is made using search woods that you may associate with chopped tops like; chop, chopped top, chopping a top, how to chop a top, chopping a 51 chev and so on. So I thought that if you know of chop threads post the link here. Great thread, I spent years researching chops before starting on mine. I should also mention this would never have happened without a great friend, scratchbuilt as he's known here on the HAMB. He spent 6 days here pushing me as hard as he could! This car is actually a 4 door Aussie built Chrysler Royal AP2, these were based off a 54 Plymouth body with different rear windows, front and rear panels (along with a few other things like a factory poly V8 in mine). To get this chop we leant the windscreen back to get the roof down an inch, then took an inch above the windscreen for an over all 2 inch chop at the front. At the rear we took it down 2.5 inches and re-shaped the rear side windows using 2 sets of rear doors. The rear window is technically a 54 Plymouth (it came out of a 54 Plymouth bodied Desoto).

I'm certainly watching this thread. I'm eventually going to chop a very difficult car so bought two books to start the process. How to Chop Tops by Leroy Tex. Smith not sure of the date and How to Chop Tops by Timothy Remus 2007 Both are getting me in the correct direction. This thread will really help Thanks--- great idea. Movin/on
