Wiring the back end. Park and brake circuits work, moving forward! PXL_20231230_220522058.jpg PXL_20231230_220907166.jpg

OK! It's been awhile. Got the wiring done and it all works! The line lock button is the horn, and the lights and turn signals are all in the overhead panel, complete with blue flasher indicator lights. I also installed and calibrated the fuel gauge. The aluminum bowl is installed on the fuel tank inlet to catch small spills. A drain will get installed on that bowl to go overboard. Next rig the trunk and then the glass and door latches! It doesn't honk the horn and hold the brakes at the same time, does it? That would become annoying.

No just the horn, there are no wires in my steering column. So the turn signals are in the overhead and the horn is on the shifter.

Been awhile, bought a new house in Nampa, Idaho. Getting our house sold, all ready, first showing is Wednesday. My fingers are crossed. Coupe is on hold for a while!!. Brakes are great, electrics all works, and I have the glass cut and ready for me to glue them in. Windshield is new and fits well. I can drive her on the trailer and off into my new, finished 3 car garage!! Can't wait!! PXL_20240409_012317216.jpg PXL_20240409_012345591.jpg PXL_20240409_012333555.jpg

I don't recall if you've said what the final paint will be, decided yet?

Yep, Krylon primer red. Frame and radiator shell are the color. I spent $1800, 15 years ago, to paint my old Corvette, a gallon of the Krylon primer cost me $38.00. Get a nick, shake the can, a spray away. Guess I have gotten cheap in my old age. Might do the firewall and bottom of the body in some shade of white. Time will tell. Don't plan to show her, just a driver. Just sold our house and bought a new house in Nampa, Idaho, near my son. Lots to do now!!

The answer I expected and that's perfect, I'm of the opinion that shiny expensive paint does not necessarily equate to any increase in enjoyment.

Split: Let's wrap this excellent project up. I've been following since the beginning and just turned 79. Would like to see it done and on the road before I depart.

I agree completely, last car was a winner at most shows. I plan to go to some shows, but only as a spectator.

Big day yesterday, went to DMV, got registered and temp paper license plate. Idaho has a street rod plate, now I can stick it in the rear window and give her hell. Life is good!!! P.S. glass goes in today!! PXL_20240412_184248691.jpg

No, but the cops don't seem to care if you have some grooves. I just bought a grooving tool. Bet my wife will love the smell. Door latches and windows are next!!

Too loud, I have big Flowmasters first with Spiraltechs in the turndowns. One can actually hold a conversation while driving. That would be my wife's doing!!!
