Creating a social forum is easy once you get the hang of it. Here are the basics:

    Step 1:
Roll your mouse over the "member" icon and then click on "social forums" like so:

    Step 2:
Choose what section is the most appropriate for your social forum. In this case, we are creating a social forum for a car club.

    Step 3:
Once in the appropriate section, click the "create new social forum" button like so:

    Step 4:
Give your social forum a name and a description. This is also your chance to give the social forum permissions. There are two option groups here.

The first is the status of your group. Do you want people to be able to join your social forum? If so, make sure that you check the box next to the word "open." And if you want your group to be open, do you want to be able to moderate those that do join? If so, select the "moderate" box.

Also, there are permission groups. If you want your forum to be "invite only," select this option. This sets the forum so that only people that are invited and approved can even see the forum.

Alternatively, you can set the forum to "Anyone can join." In this case, your forum is public. Anyone can see the forum and anyone can ask to join.

    Step 5:
Click the "Create Social Forum" button.
