    Hello there,
Maybe the same case: special grill on Citroen Avant (the second maybe not?) - shadow of "americatization"?
Thanks Google, it could be found hundreds of wonderful black&white photographs of old Paris, taken by great Robert Doisneau...

    Ciao,
    Zoran

This one isn't a Citroen. Its a La Licorne Rivoli. The struggling La Licorne firm bought Traction Avant 'Legere' bodies from Citroen and mounted them on their own rear-drive chassis to fill gaps in their lineup. There was also a Normandie model which used the larger Citroen Normale body. Later ones came with Citroen engines as well.
La Licorne had a long history in voiturette racing. Its crowning glory (and final success) was an outright win in the 1930 Monte Carlo Rally with one of their smallest models, a 905cc 5cv torpedo.

As a footnote, Citroen wasn't the only major company to sell bodies to a smaller company in the 1930s. Renault sold Viva Grand Sport shells to Delahaye for its unsuccessful type 168. Peugeot sold model 305 bodies to Berliet for its Dauphine.

Hello and thank you on detailed information that I didn't know!

When I was young, there were a dozen of good preserved Citroen Traction Avant in Belgrade, Serbia (former Yugoslavia) and owner often gathered at nice places around town. Trough years most of automobiles dissapeared, probably sold abroad.

There could a few still left here and there in Serbia. Some are offered for renting - a few hundred Euros for a few hours... I had nice chance to examine one in details, some years ago, and even had wonderful experience to be driven in it for short ride! Maginficent automobile indeed, silent and comfortable.

In our slang, they were know as "Gestapo autos", the same as MB-170 - becuase being acting a lot in war films as used by Germans occupation forces in France and everywhere in Europe, not always by Gestapo...

    Ciao,
