Yes, it's very nice. Wish I had a way to scan some of photos of my old 56 drag car. I am Butch/56sedandelivery
'56 150 Very nice car! I'm partial to post cars but then again I've always been a drag racer and grew up with these cars. A 57 150 would be at the top of my 55-57 list. In any case I like your car. Pat
Thanks Pat. I think a '57 150 w/283 270hp is the epitome of the tri-five cars too. I love '56 150 models as well, unfortunately my car doesn't have a 265 225hp, but I dressed the crate motor out period correct. Thanks again for the compliment.
The 57 Chevy wagon at Sunset was my grandfather's. I remember flat towing it there in the early 70's as we lived 10 minutes away. In this picture it is being driven by Ron Shargo who also built the engine. I also remember the Yenko being beat by the wagon. Ron was an extremely consistent driver and one of the best builders in the area.
Looks like he made some changes. This appears to be lettered Modified Production. His home track was E-Town. I think I remember racing him when I ran D/MP Verne
Yes he did run MP but I think the previous picture is a stocker. He also ran a 56 Chevy wagon in MP. Pat
Pat: Do you remember the name of the gal who used to drive the 62 Chevrolet Wagon with the 409 engine and the 4 speed transmission? The color was Chevrolet Marina Blue I think. She ran at Dover all the time and almost always won her class. Jimbo
Are you sure that is Indy it sure looks like Lebanon Valley NY? With the same circle track to the left of the strip pits.
I'm not sure what combination a 1962 wagon would have run in D/SA in 1968. The class breaks were changed substantially at about that time. All the 1962, 409 combinations have always been "manual-only" in Stock. I have a picture of a 340 horsepower '63 409 running in E/SA at about that time (see attachment) but nothing on a '62 since that version of the 409 was not yet available. The most powerful automatic '62 Chevy was a 300 horsepower, 327 and it was never been really competitive at that rating so I'm at a loss if it was truly D/SA. I would not have wanted to try to keep that gear set alive in a 409 wagon, 4-speed combination! c
