    Because it's Vermont.

Not a lot of car guys.
Lots of stuff still laying around.
Lots of it owned by weirdos.

  5. 033.jpg 036.jpg Seen these on a little road trip this week. A cool place. But there wasn't anyone around. So I don't know if they are sitting and rotting, or maybe not. Just a cool place.

'39 had the vertical bar grille and '40 had the waffle (or whatever you call it).

Does resemble a 41 Lincoln if you do not notice the big S.

  12. 40 years ago I found this 36 IH pick-up in a small unnamed stream near my home. It was not new to the stream at that time. Over the years it was stripped of parts and sank lower in the mud, last fall I took a walk back to see it and this is how I found it. Someone had tried to pull it out of the stream and it didn't fair well.

  13. Then a '39 it is.

Reminds me of a story. In '65 my Dad spent the summer working at Dinosaur National Monument in Colorado. he helped somebody put this sportcoupe together in spare time while there. To fit the pieces together, they robbed bolts off an old truck that was pushed into the Green River. Some time in the 80's we searched the river bank for that old truck, but I guess the Park Service decided that wasn't the image they wanted for the nearby campground. I don't have any photos of the donor truck or the coupe after they assembled it, but am told they drove it up to Echo Park on a test run.

  21. I think so but that 61 Chev looks like it could have been driven there. It almost seems too nice.

Looks like the early 1950's 2 door, (Chevy, Olds, Pontiac???), has radiused rear wheel openings.

  24. Bomb.I have been going to Cape Hatterus above Cape Look Out since the late 60s for surf fishing.{I also lived in Wilmington N.C. for a while}Some times after a hurricane would cut through the island and make a new inlet they would dump a lot of old cars in the inlet and put a temp. bridge over them till they could dredge sand over them and close the inlet. I think the state made them pull all of all those old car out of Cape Look Out. Bruce.

    Torkwrench,

I noticed that car too. I wonder if what's left of those cars is still buried under the sand or if they had been hauled off a long time ago...
