Art & Inspiration Swoopy cars

  1. Yes FalconGeorge i'll re-post it here. Are they both Lampredi engine jobs from same year?

So how about Bugattis?- Jean's 57's are obvious. However check the wicked flow on father Ettore's Brescia models ( hoping folks can find 'swoop' in vintage cars..heck, I can see it in a 1903 Mercedes).

And the rear three-quarter has always been to me the Jaguar E-type's best aspect:

This is my buddy Bob's 36 Ford that he made into a cabriolet from a ragged 3W cpe. We call the car "Swoopy" so I thought it should merit a posting. All home built and homemade. Great car!

Looked everywhere for a picture of Bill Mitchell's retirement car, to no avail. That thing makes a boattail Riv look like a London taxi. Bill Mitchell=Swoopmaster General.
The Tjaardas are pretty damned close to the brass ring too.

The visual impact of this car is always so much less in my photos than seeing the car in person.

Nice Cars! My favorite has to be the Alfa Romeo, because it's understated. The Talbot Lago is OK, but a little too much.

Alfa Romeo had some serious swoop going on in the 1950's.

It's the 1948 Timbs Buick streamliner. Basically a hand built car by a normal dude (no big financial backing) that ran a straight 8 powerplant. Pretty cool huh?
