Technical Tail gate hinges ford truck size problem

You replied to the question that was in response to bandit Billy’s post with the picture of his chrome hinge

 

Cast it appears. Yeah mine are shiny but you can buy the same ones and sand blast them and give them some paint. Or maybe @40FORDPU has a spare.

 

His question sure, your photo (that I made full image of) that I said was cast iron.

 

Have the same problem with a 1951 3/4 ton I'm working on. The beds longer and wider than the 1/2 tons. Figure I'll just modify the aftermarket ones to fit the truck. Can't find a good tail gate so going to make that also.

 

As @johnny g pointed out, The "Tonner" truck was a heavier unit then the '40 1/2 ton p/u's.
The "Tonner" Trucks were cast and larger, and heavier in construction vs the stamped steel that the 1/2 ton p/u's used.
I have nothing for the "Tonner" Trucks.

You are using my picture of my cast hinge to show that @Bandit Billy also has a cast hinge?

It looks like your cast hinge has more stand off, too.

I am thinking the 51 wide bed tailgate will interchange with the 1980 up to body change step side though the ford logo is a different font. if I was looking for hinge I would call Carolina classics f100 919-682-4211 they seem to have parts they manufacture themselves a lot of used parts & knowledge. I have bought stuff from them & was very happy
