I like Edelbrock 500 CFM carbs..A lot of people don't like them I know, but they are very easy to tune with metering rods and jets. Lots of info on this on the net. I have 4 cars with multiple carburetion and once you have them dialed in they are as good as a single carb [or better] and a lot more fun to look at.

IIRC, the Mopar Six Pack and Hemi were both available in 1971.

That's right, forgot about 340 6 pack AAR too. Mopar must have been the only one left after hp wars.

See post 118. Bore out the dual plane manifold, couple aluminum plates & 2 two barrel carbs. Cheap, easy to tune & looks great

    You could use 2 Holley 350s or 2 Holley 500 2-bbl carbs....

I’ve have dual quads on my car for 7 years and there was no measurable difference over a single 4 barrel once I got use to driving the car. It actually improved over time.

  16. An engine needs X amount of fuel to run at a particular speed, if the single 4 needs half throttle to achieve it a dual 4 needs only a 1/4 throttle to supply the same amount of fuel.
One of my cars averaged 15.8 mpg running 3,000 rpm on an extended trip, pair of 600 Carters, 4.11 gears and non overdrive trans.

Little 289 I had back in high school. Never ran very well. Later in HS I swapped to an Edelbrock Crossram and it ran way worse still….

The manifold comes with a thin steel plate that you use if its not a quadra jet . Works fine .

Venturi shape & size are part of the equation as are booster configuration. .
