It's that time again, when I go off on another crazy LeMons Rally adventure.

This time it's the west side of Route 66. Since I have a 62 Corvette, of course I have to be there...playing Tod, and bringing Buz along for the ride. He has a concerned look, which is appropriate, since he's always getting us into fights, and I'm always getting hooked on some crazy broad in this week's situation.

    The rally info is here

I leave at the beginning of the week. I hope to make it to Santa Monica to get a picture on the pier, and so the car can see the ocean. It lived in Simi Valley for a long time, but I don't think it got to drive around much before it got taken apart for paint and never put back together in the 1980s.

I'll eventually be posting stuff on instagram as @jforb427

Follow along...what could possibly go wrong?

  2. Will be following along.

  3. Route 66 in Arizona is very fun.

    I'm not sure Tod's '62 Corvette is a Lemon?

    Have fun, as always.

    Off he goes
    Into the wild blue yonder
    Driving his 'Vette
    Into the sun
    Here they come
    Zooming to meet his thunder
    At 'em Jim
    Give 'em the gun!

Jerome is interesting, but a bit off Rt. 66.
Guess Ashfork's accommodations aren't up to the standards of Lemons. :p
Are you swinging down 89 and go 89A over the hill, or up to Flagstaff and down thru Sedona to Jerome?

All I know now is the stopping places every night. The actual route will depend on what things they send us to find....I'll know that Wednesday morning.

We usually get to the day's destination at wildly different times, so you'd be sitting a long time holding that sign. You might need more training.

But I hope to post the checkpoint list sometime the first day, so you can see where we'll be going

  20. Tod and Buz? Oh, Tod was a character in the TV series "Route 66" (which I've never seen nor heard of) portrayed by Martin Milner. Ohhh, a younger Officer Malloy (I watched a lot of Adam-12 as a kid in the 1970s).

You better watch out for these hoodlums:

I was born the year before it started, and I had never seen it either until a few years ago. One of the satellite channels, TV Land, MeTV, I don't remember which one, were running it for a while. I was still working, so I didn't get to see many episodes. Never thought to look it up on youtube.

Now I really feel old:(. TV's in the average Joe's household didn't come along until 10 or 12 years after I was born.

  29. Will the hotels at the stops be able to accommodate the participants? An old corvette has a lot of appeal, but sleeping in one…
