If anyone interested the 1940 Buick had been hot rodded with a 1950's Buick Nailhead minus heads and intake backed by a customized 1937 Buick transmission that I don't plan on using I'd be willing to sell them to help fund the build.

Love this car so far. Reminds of the art deco cars of the comics that always looked so cool. Good work.

That's cool. I got to pull the tranny out to get a better look at it so I can figure out what the thing is worth anyway

Does the car have a torque tube? It seems like an odd setup if it dosnt....

yes it has a torque tube but I know it can be converted cause those 37 trannies are desired by traditional hot rodders

I wanted to get the body together on a flat level surface and after I get that trunk area filled in and add some more internal bracing then I'll throw her on the frame. Then I can start channeling the frame into the floor.

ok ...have you done it this way before? My concern would be the fit of the front panels esp. the hood as it doesn't take much to throw it off. By bolting the front bulkhead down properly on a good level chassis as a base line to start from , may avoid fitment issues later.
I'm just trying to be constructive here, I think the design you have unfolding is looking rather cool so far , so this is just 1 guys opinion.
The main thing is havin it look right at the end ,and I know my way is not the only way to get 'er done.:D

Yeah I understand what your saying :) but I think if I can cut the hell out of 2 cars to build something completely different I don't think I'll be worried about getting the hood to sit straight.

Man you are going to screw with there heads when finished. Guys that thought they know everything about old cars will be blown away. Have fun with it when asked WHAT KIND OF CAR IS IT? Make up some crazy ass name,LOL. You will get guys actually say my uncle or grand dad had one just like that. I have had guys say stuff like that about my unusual custom cars I built . Looks like your coming along great. Keep us posted,I like custom stuff like this. Don't give up ,it will be worth it when finished.

That's funny I did that a couple times with my Packard. I claimed it was a 1951 Chevy Malibu SS with the big 327 Straight 8, It was the larger high performance model that Chevy made, better than the Bel Air
