dear HAMBers: I browght this yesterday, don't know exactly what it is. can you guys help me to identify model and make? it looks like an 1927 Citroen C4 pickup truck, but i'm not sure...
It,s a RENAULT, Probably KZ8 ( 6 cylinder ) about 1928. Or a Monaquatre, same era. The side louvres ( welded in ? )look like those on a Renault NN but that was a mid 1920s model. Now, see the lower curve on the firewall. Right in the middle is where the Renault diamond shaped logo / body tag would go.
I can't tell you what it is but the louvers on the side of the cowl, the vent trap and the firewall looks really good, This will make a nice hot rod... Good score.
thanks a lot guys. this will be my first hot-rod. i was hoping to find out at least the make of this pickup... check out the firewall: seems like the steering wheel was on the left side (no Renault, no Citroen). any help will be apreciated!
cool little truck. I can't help,though. I'd guess a little newer, though--30/31 ish. just a hunch based on styling, though.
Like i said in post #2. It,s a RENAULT. 100%. I,ve had at least a dozen of those things in the last 25 years. I have photo proof here but my scanner is,nt working.
Firewall looks like it was cut for clearance, not a factory hole. Even I can see the diamond in the middle as was described above.
Well i got my new scanner working so here,s a pic of one of my Renault barnfinds. I actually found this car here in Holland in 1988. Sold it three times and bought it back three times. Only pics i have , it,s pretty much engraved in my brain cells. Recently came up for sale again and still nothing done to it. 1929 RENAULT KZ6 . You can just see the double curved lines in the firewall. Renault was Left & Right steer in the 1930s. Had something to do with road & user taxes. Believe me Cimarron, you have a Renault there. As Tommy says, more than likely started out as a 4 door. Someone has welded those louvres in the cowl, Looks good too.
well, there's some welding done at the roof, not sure if it's factory. louvers are ovbioulsy welded in, but they look kinda cool. dear Gaz, look at this pictures and tell me what you think. look at the hinges and the other details. the cowls on both Renaults are about half shorter than mine.
The 1920s -1930s Renault Monaquatre & Vivaquatre sedans were just as common as the Model A Ford. Except in the USA ofcourse. Renault also built big fancy limo,s, real big, Maybe your cab was a limo with a longer cowl. The position of the door hinge does,nt mean much. Same for the dimple in the sunvisor. There were lots of body styles and body builders doing limo,s then. They would ofcourse be built using the Renault chassis, firewall, mechanical combination. It would be nice if you posted an intro, there is another page for that.
