I am looking for a car cover that can be used when transporting a car on a open flatbed trailer. The cover will have to withstand 65 MPH for long periods of time. Can anyone suggest a brand name? Bob
I think a car cover will do more damage than leaving it bare. Imagine the cover flapping against the paint, and chrome, all the way accross the country. Maybe look into having the protective sheeting like you see on new cars applied.
I agree with gahi about a cover doing more damage than good. If you're that worried about it buy an enclosed trailer and be done with it.
Yep, You will not believe the damage a cover can do to a 5000.00 paint job in just 200 miles at 65 mph. Consider just welding on a frontal shield on the trailer to prevent any stone chips. It won't melt. Don't drive it through Ohio though... we like painting graffiti on antique trailered cars.
There is no such thing as a car cover that can be used on an open trailer without damaging paint... Don't cover a car on an open trailer ever... if you want protection from the elements, don't use an open trailer to begin with, go enclosed.
