post up pics or your roof filled , recessed panel. what are us using . tell us what car you have and what the roof came off of.
I think this type of thread has been done before. One I've tried is a Maverick skin turned backwards on an A coupe, perfect fit.
i did a surch but i could nt find anything. i have know about the mavrick turned around backworks . i wanted to see id any one was using any thing else . it is hare to find a good mavrick roof that hasnt had another car stacked on it here in ohio or that didnt have a vinyl top about rusted off. i have used in the past a dodge extended cab roof off a 80's truck on a model a. also used a decklid oof a 6 cadillac but it had a peak down the middel. it worked for what i was building, 32 hupmobile .
I used a roof off a 72 Vega station wagon, it's got 6 beads down it. Probably won't be easy finding one of those. It needed a bit of work to fit correctly. It's on my 29 Ford coupe. Red
inserts from Walden's one we put the factory step in it so an original cloth material can cover keeping the stock look the factory joggle on this one was good the Walden insert was trimmed up to match
Flipper, Those roof inserts with the beads just in the center were from Mopar station wagons. Not sure of the exact models or years, but I think early 1960s.
I have used a number of corvairs , on 32, 33, 34 coupes 57/58 ford on sedans, 68 Mustang ,cougar on A' coupes....
We filled the insert on a rough old 33 Chevy by making some curved strips of sheet metal and tacking them together after the initial metal work with a shrinker-strecher and then tacked them into place. We started with a sheet of 20 gauge cold rolled steel. We had never used a English wheel but that didn't stop us from trying,, We have a lot to learn and it is far from being or looking professional but after working it further with a body hammer in spots,,some filler it turned out pretty good. Used the top off an old mercury wagon turned around backwards for my 29 A sedan. I worked our pretty good, has 5 ribs in it and was able to use the original braces to.
