Guy on another forum say's he researched this and the 1955 265's in Taskmasters were yellow.

I think this thing has been cobbled together years ago, The front mounts, short water pump, W/temp sender in the head are red flags.

Are those Mr Gasket header gaskets?

The casting numbers and date codes and will reveal more that is if we can get them. What model truck is the engine in? Looks mid '50's

Woodenmerc is the OP not me. The 1 ton and up delivery vans were grey. Tore 2 55 Chevy delivery vans apart in the yard.

We know who the OP is. I was just relaying what others have said. You don't agree with them and that's fine. I'm just trying to help solve the mystery. I can edit or delete my post if you like. This thread is dead anyway.

No need to delete! And I’m sorry I came off confrontational. That was not my intention. And I have learned many things from you and the others, all I was saying I’ve never seen one is all. I’m Sorry, if I offended you as that was not my intention.

We could always tell an early 327 from a 283 by looking at the block on drivers side. 327s had a slight casting defect between the freeze plug and timing chain cover. 283s were smooth.
The large journal 327s did not have this defect. Wish i could post a pic, but do not have a 327 as of now

If you look at the numbers, the T32xxx the 327 in the other number, the 2’s aren’t the same.
I’d think there would only be one style of stamp used?

Big difference in '62 and '68 327s. '68 up is large journal and likely has an 010 casting block. I was also pretty sure that no heads got accessory holes drilled until '69. Really need to get a casting number off the rear to know what it is.

SS327 thanks for clearing air. I was not offended, just maybe a little confused by your post. All is good man. The OP, through no fault of his own, can't provide anymore detail at the moment so were kinda stuck on this one.

    All the best,
    Tom
