A vendor I have boughtafew things from over the years stopped carrying the wiring kit I've gotten to know and love called " It's a Snap". They replaced the kit with a no name kit called a WH1001.

I have no freaking idea where it comes from... or who makes it. I love wiring as much as colonoscopies and this kit adds fuel to the fire.

Rather than supply real world instructions or schematics the kit comes with 2 comic books and no customer support numbers or web sites.

Anyone else having fun with this kit?
I seem to have a wod of wires left over and a huge desire to get out the wire cutters!

OH Hell: You bought the kit from Hell. I've posted a few times about " It's a Crap". I threw one away. Made in India- POOR instructions - wires too short- label markings too small AND wipe off easy. Good Luck.

Wow. I've got the same kit and it really isn't THAT bad is it? Or is it...I don't disagree that there are some F'ed up lengths and no real instructions. I'm looking for some right now, did the search and this is what I found! $100 in the shitter? Nay...Wires can wipe off AFTER they are installed!!!

the kit came with 2 plastic hardware connections that are to fit GM columns... I've got a 78 column..they dont fit.

So far my progess has been pretty good, except I have no power to the headlight switch - meaning no power to the headlights/ tail lights.

your $100 in the U.S. translated to $320 here in Canada... yeah I'd call the kit shit.

Man, I've heard nothing but bad about those kits. Don't know if Butch is right about India, but do know that there made overseas. If you're interested in one of our Rebel Wire kits you can contact our Canadian distributor, Colin Crozier at 905-376-8785. Tell him Glenn sent ya...

I got one a ITs A Snap kit in my 54 - no problems installing it, had one question on the ignition switch, called the company and they told me what to do. Its now 4 years and zero problems. My son also put one of their kits in, same situation - no problems. Schematic supplied with kit was good.

    1. Open plastic bag.
    2. Dump contents in the nearest trash container.
    3. Use the bag to store your small bolts, nuts, and washers.
    4. Close tool box.
    5. Get beer, raise feet, watch football.

I have the EZ Wiring kit and that works wonderfully.

  15. I used the no-name kit, and had little trouble figuring it out. But, I am a bit of a techie-geek, and have wired several cars with Painless stuff in the past. The two things I disliked the most was a single circuit for ALL the lights, and no instructions to speak of. Here is a tip: The extra relay that makes no sense is for an ECU or similar. I used it as a headlight circuit, creating a seperate circuit for them, and taking the current load off the switch.

One more tip: The electric fan feed is hot ALL the time. Not keyed.

I thought It's A Snap was a PITA and had very poor instruction and tech support... It may just be me because my wife installed it in her 51 with no complaints. Painless was relatively Painless. I'm wiring up the van with a Rebel Wire kit (Owned and run by a HAMBer). Looks pretty good with good instructions, and since I've already spoken with Glenn, I know the tech support will be good. My wife is also going to do most of the wiring. She likes it.
